Industrial Inverters (48V – 600V)

Ashwoods are working the industry leading inverter manufacturers to create efficient and cost effective drive solutions for the mining and industrial fan sectors. With products operating at voltages between 48-600V the Ashwoods portfolio is diverse and suits many applications needs.

Off-highway (24V – 72V)

Partnering with several leading inverter manufacturers Ashwoods are able to provide low cost, high performance solutions that meets the price point of the materials handling market but exceeds the current performance requirements. This ultimately leads to increased vehicle range and a large space saving on the vehicle opening up other areas of the design.

Automotive (48V – 400V)

We’ve teamed up with a leading controller manufacturer to produce electric axles that give all the benefits of a highly efficient motor without the high costs that are usually associated with Interior Permanent Magnet Motors. Our IPM motors are driven at 48V and 60V using the latest controller technology – the innovations have allowed the costs of both the controller and our motor to be reduced when compared to induction machines and DC brushed machines.

With over 8 years of automotive experience we are well placed to advise and supply motor & controllers packages into automotive applications. Using our in-house fully automated dynos, Ashwoods can produce life cycle testing, complex duty cycles and a wide variety of custom testing to ensure full optimisation of packages before shipping to the customer.

Inverter Development

Ashwoods has developed high voltage inverters that are currently used on the Ashwoods APU. The inverter was designed and integrated onto the APU to allow a single coolant loop that efficiently controls the motor and inverter temperature. This allows the customer to reduce weight and increase real-estate by removing extra cooling systems. With the inverter integrated onto the motor the unit is very compact and also cuts costs on labour, manufacturing and time.
